Moving, dorm rooms, and the dreaded clean out
Moving. It’s not exciting, it’s not a easy, and it certainly isn’t fun. Phase one of moving into
Astoria began today with the simple move down the block. If nothing else, I have learned one thing. Moving is a great way to reorganize your life. It’s a way to start fresh, set your priorities in order and get rid of a lot of unnecessary crap. Unfortunately, while moving out of a dorm room, one is left to fight for the elusive cart. Yes, those ridiculous little black cartons that are used for the weekly garbage removal quickly turn into the most important thing in the building. Granted my excitement over moving my Diane Von Furstenburg luggage with equipment that yesterday moved everything from rotted food to well.. anything out of a guy’s room, was not very high. But then only having two available for a building of a thousand? Come on!! Luckily that’s all over now. So although my stuff is currently spread around Melissa’s apartment for as far as the eye can see, I am one step closer to being on my own… well with roommates….
